Marriage & Family Therapist

Latrina Hynes, MA, LMFT

Latrina Hynes is the founder of Peace & Mind Wellness. Latrina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with strong ties to the Los Angeles city and community. “ My objective in forming Peace & Mind wellness was to provide a safe space for community members to discuss feelings”, seems so simple but in reality, this has not been something that has been openly discussed accessible to our community. For so long we have believed that having feelings and discussing feelings were all signs of weakness. I’m here and the Center is here to bridge the gap and get rid of the old way of thinking because that has not served us.” Latrina has been working hands-on in the Los Angeles area within the community providing mental health services for over 10 years.

My overall goal is to curate a safe space that is free of judgment, and one that fosters hope, healing, and growth.

Although I have been trained in a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive behavior therapy, compassion focused therapy, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness, I utilize a holistic approach that caters to my clients specific needs and goals. I believe that building rapport and establishing trust is at the core of the therapeutic relationship. I want to partner with you on your healing journey.

Bernice Mitchell

Bernice  Mitchell Is a Registered Psychological Associate. She very much believes in the mind body connections. That our bodies hear what we say and think about it. And that healing truly comes when the mind and body are connected again as one, intercommunicating.  She has an empathetic, non-judgmental, safe space approach to her practice, which includes evidence-based modalities such as Inter family dynamics (INF), TF-CBT, CBT, DBT and ACT. She also practices humanistic, psychodynamic, Gestalt and Person-centered therapy.

Most importantly, she aims to find the best modality for her clients. She is passionate about partnering with adults and teens who experience trauma/PTSD, eating disorders, and disordered eating, including family and couple relationship building in their journey of healing. She believes healing and strengthening the most threatened parts of our community, 'the family unit,' creates a higher quality of life and a future with endless possibilities for our youth. If you have made it this far, you're braver than you think- take one more step and let's start building your tomorrow, today.
